CHRISTIAN WOMEN AND THE VEIL IN PRAYER — Final Exhortation

FINAL EXHORTATION

"Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you." (1Cor. 11:2)


Brethren, the matter of the veil may seem small to some, but in the sight of God no commandment given through His apostles is without weight. The Spirit did not inspire Paul to write these things in vain. From creation to Christ, from the angels of heaven to the assemblies of the churches, the head covering stands as a testimony of God’s eternal order.

It is not the fabric itself that saves, but the faith that submits to God’s will. Yet, to set aside what the Lord has commanded is to tread on dangerous ground. Jesus said, “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46). Paul affirmed, “The things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord” (1 Cor. 14:37). To obey is to honor Christ; to refuse is to dishonor Him.

Sisters, every time you cover your heads in prayer, you are bearing witness before the world and before the angels to the divine order that God Himself has established concerning headship (v.3). And that divine order is good, perfect, and wise. Brothers, when you faithfully teach and uphold this truth, you show love not only for God’s Word but for the souls entrusted to you. Together, in unity, we proclaim that the church of Christ is governed not by culture or opinion but by the eternal Word of God.

Therefore, let us stand fast in the ordinances delivered by the apostles (1 Cor. 11:2). Let us resist the temptation to make void the Word of God through human reasoning. Let us not be ashamed of practices the world despises, but rather glory in obedience, for our Lord Himself was made of no reputation and humbled Himself unto death, even the death of the cross (Phil. 2:8).

Brethren, the time will come when the world mocks all that is holy, and even many in the church will despise apostolic doctrine. But as for us, let us remain steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain in Him (1 Cor. 15:58).

May every act of submission, every veil worn in prayer, and every ordinance kept in faith point to the glory of Christ, the true Head of the church. And may the Lord find us faithful when He comes.

PANGHULI NA PANAWAGAN

"Kayo'y aking pinupuri nga, na sa lahat ng mga bagay ay naaalaala ninyo ako, at iniingatan ninyong matibay ang mga turo, na gaya ng ibinigay ko sa inyo." (1Cor. 11:2)


Mga kapatid, maaaring sa iba’y maliit na bagay lamang ang tungkol sa pagsusuot ng belo ng mga kababaihang Kristiyano sa panalangin, ngunit sa paningin ng Diyos, walang utos na ibinigay sa pamamagitan ng Kanyang mga apostol ang walang halaga. Hindi sinulat ni Pablo ang mga ito nang walang saysay, kundi sa patnubay ng Espiritu. Mula sa paglalang hanggang kay Cristo, mula sa mga anghel sa langit hanggang sa mga iglesiang itinayo ng Diyos, ang belo ay patotoo ng walang hanggang kaayusan ng Diyos.

Hindi ang mismong tela ang nagliligtas, kundi ang pananampalatayang nagpapasakop sa kalooban ng Diyos. Ngunit kung ating ipagwawalang-bahala ang iniutos ng Panginoon, naglalakad tayo sa mapanganib na landas. Sabi ni Jesus: “Bakit ninyo ako tinatawag na Panginoon, Panginoon, at hindi ninyo ginagawa ang mga bagay na sinasabi ko?” (Lucas 6:46). At pinatotohanan ni Pablo: “Ang mga bagay na isinusulat ko sa inyo ay mga utos ng Panginoon” (1 Cor. 14:37). Ang pagsunod ay pagpupuri kay Cristo; ang pagtanggi ay paglapastangan sa Kanya.

Mga kapatid na babae, sa tuwing tinatakpan ninyo ang inyong ulo sa pananalangin, ipinahahayag ninyo sa mundo at sa mga anghel ang kaayusang itinakda ng Dios sa usaping ng pagkapang-ulo (v.3), at ang Kanyang kaayusan ay mabuti. Mga kapatid na lalaki, sa pagtuturo at pagtataguyod ninyo ng katotohanang ito, ipinapakita ninyo ang inyong pag-ibig hindi lamang sa Salita ng Diyos kundi sa mga kaluluwang ipinagkatiwala sa inyo.

Sama-sama, ipinapahayag natin na ang iglesia ni Cristo ay pinamumunuan hindi ng kultura o opinyon, kundi ng walang hanggang Salita ng Diyos. Kaya’t tayo’y magpakatatag sa mga aral na iniwan ng mga apostol (1 Cor. 11:2). Huwag nating hayaan na ang Salita ng Diyos ay mawala ng saysay dahil sa pangangatwiran ng tao. Huwag tayong mahiya sa mga gawi na kinamumuhian ng sanlibutan, kundi magalak tayo sa pagsunod—sapagkat ang ating Panginoon mismo ay nagpakumbaba hanggang sa kamatayan, maging sa krus (Fil. 2:8).

Mga kapatid, darating ang panahon na pagtatawanan ng sanlibutan ang lahat ng bagay na banal, at maging ang ilan sa iglesia ay hahamakin ang turo ng mga apostol. Ngunit para sa atin, manatili tayong matatag, hindi natitinag, laging masigasig sa gawain ng Panginoon, yamang nalalaman natin na ang ating pagpapagal ay hindi walang kabuluhan sa Kanya (1 Cor. 15:58).

Nawa’y bawat pagpapasakop, bawat belo na isinusuot sa pananalangin, at bawat aral na sinusunod sa pananampalataya ay magturo tungo sa kaluwalhatian ni Cristo, ang tunay na Ulo ng iglesia. At nawa’y datnan Niya tayong tapat sa Kanyang pagbabalik.
