The Inspiration Of The Holy Bible

A Comprehensive Doctrinal Study


I. DEFINITION AND ORIGIN OF “INSPIRATION”

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

o   θεόπνευστος (theopneustos) – God-breathed; from Theos (God) + pneō (to breathe).

o   The term does not mean "inspired" as in artistic creativity, but literally “breathed out by God.”

B. Implication:

Scripture does not contain the Word of God—it is the Word of God! It is not a product of man’s elevated religious feeling, but a direct communication from God Himself, through human instruments.


II. THE PROCESS OF INSPIRATION

A. 2 Peter 1:20–21

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  • Greek:
    • φερόμενοι ὑπὸ πνεύματος ἁγίου (pheromenoi hypo pneumatos hagiou)
      • pheromenoi = carried along, driven (used also in Acts 27:15 of a ship driven by wind)
      • Men did not initiate prophecy; they were moved and directed.

B. Jeremiah 1:9

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

  • Hebrew:
    • nātattî (נָתַתִּי) – “I have put” – emphatic action of the Lord giving His own words.

C. Conclusion:

Inspiration is verbal (words chosen) and complete (every part is inspired). Writers were not authors of divine ideas but vehicles of divine truth.


III. HISTORICAL EVIDENCE OF SCRIPTURAL INTEGRITY

A. The Dead Sea Scrolls (1947–1956 Discovery)

C. Human Honesty in Scripture

  • Heroes' failures are recorded (David’s sin, Peter’s denial, apostles’ unbelief).
  • If the Bible were man-made, such accounts would be omitted or softened.

Man glorifies himself; Scripture humbles him.

I. KAHULUGAN AT PINAGMULAN NG “INSPIRASYON”

A. Susing Talata – 2 Timoteo 3:16

Ang lahat ng mga kasulatan na kinasihan ng Dios ay mapapakinabangan din naman sa pagtuturo, sa pagsansala, sa pagsaway, sa ikatututo na nasa katuwiran:

  • Griyego: Πᾶσα γραφὴ θεόπνευστος (pasa graphē theopneustos)
    • theopneustos – hiningahan ng Diyos; mula sa Theos (Diyos) + pneō (huminga)
    • Hindi ito nangangahulugang “kinasihan” gaya ng malikhaing sining, kundi literal na “hiningahan ng Diyos.”

B. Implikasyon:

Ang Kasulatan ay hindi lamang naglalaman ng Salita ng Diyos — ito ang Salita ng Diyos! Hindi ito produkto ng damdaming panrelihiyon ng tao, kundi tuwirang pahayag mula sa Diyos na ibinigay sa pamamagitan ng mga taong Kanyang ginamit.


II. ANG PROSESO NG INSPIRASYON

A. 2 Pedro 1:20–21

Na maalaman muna ito, na alin mang hula ng kasulatan ay hindi nagbuhat sa sariling pagpapaliwanag. Sapagka't hindi sa kalooban ng tao dumating ang hula kailanman: kundi ang mga tao ay nagsalita buhat sa Dios, na nangaudyokan ng Espiritu Santo

  • Griyego: φερόμενοι ὑπὸ πνεύματος ἁγίου (pheromenoi hypo pneumatos hagiou)
    • pheromenoi (nangaudyokan) – dinala, inihip, ginabayan (gaya ng barkong tinatangay ng hangin sa Gawa 27:15)
    • Ang mga propeta ay hindi kusang nagsalita; sila’y ginabayan at pinakilos.

B. Jeremias 1:9

Nang magkagayo'y iniunat ng Panginoon ang kaniyang kamay, at hinipo ang aking bibig; at sinabi sa akin ng Panginoon, Narito, inilagay ko ang aking mga salita sa iyong bibig:

  • Hebreo: nâthan (נָתַן) – “inilagay ko” – mariing aksyon ng Diyos sa pagbibigay ng Kanyang sariling mga salita.

C. Konklusyon:

Ang inspirasyon ay verbal (pati mga salitang ginamit ay pinili) at kumpleto (buong bahagi ng Kasulatan ay kinasihan). Ang mga manunulat ay hindi tagapaglikha ng ideyang mula sa Diyos, kundi direktang tagapagdala ng Kanyang katotohanan.


III. PATUNAY AYON SA KASAYSAYANG NG KABUUAN AT INTEGRIDAD NG KASULATAN

A. Dead Sea Scrolls (Natuklasan: 1947–1956)

  • Mga balumbon (scrolls) na mula pa sa ika-3 siglo B.C. hanggang ika-1 siglo A.D.
  • Kabilang halos lahat ng aklat ng Lumang Tipan (lalo na ang Isaias), na tugma sa Masoretic Text (ika-10 siglo A.D.)
  • Pinabulaanan ang bintang na ang Bibliya ay binago noong “Middle Ages”

B. Katibayang Manuskrito ng Bagong Tipan

  • Higit sa 5,800 Griyegong manuskrito, 10,000+ Latin, at 9,300 iba pang sinaunang bersyon
  • Mga fragmento gaya ng P52 (c. 125 A.D.) na patunay ng maagang pagkalat ng mga sulat ng Bagong Tipan

IV. MGA BINTANG NA PINABUBULAANAN: DIUMANO “ANG BIBLIYA AY BINAGO O KINORAP”

A. Patotoo ni Jesus – Juan 17:17

Pakabanalin mo sila sa katotohanan: ang salita mo ay katotohanan.

  • Kung ang Salita ay tiwali, hindi ito maaaring maging katotohanan.

B. Awit 12:6–7

Ang mga salita ng Panginoon ay mga dalisay na salita; … Iyong iingatan sila, Oh Panginoon, iyong pakaingatan sila mula sa lahing ito magpakailan man.”

  • Hebreo: shamar (שָׁמַר) – ingatan, bantayan nang buong pag-iingat
  • Ipinapangako ng Diyos ang pangangalaga, hindi lamang inspirasyon.

C. Mateo 5:18

Sapagka't katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, Hanggang sa mangawala ang langit at ang lupa, ang isang tuldok o isang kudlit, sa anomang paraan ay hindi mawawala sa kautusan, hanggang sa maganap ang lahat ng mga bagay.”

  • ang isang tuldok o isang kudlit – pinakamaliit na titik sa Hebreo (yod); Tittle – maliit na palamuti sa titik
  • Pinagtitibay ni Jesus na kahit ang pinakamaliit na detalye ay mananatili.

V. MGA BINTANG NA PINABUBULAANAN: DIUMANO “GINAWA LANG NG TAO ANG BIBLIYA”

A. Internal na Patunay – Pagkakaisa (Unity) at Pagkakapareho (Consistency)

  • Isinulat sa loob ng 1,500 taon, ng higit sa 40 manunulat, mula sa 3 kontinente, sa 3 wika
  • Tinatalakay ang mga sensitibong paksa (kasalanan, kawalang-hanggan, gobyerno, papel ng kasarian, kaligtasan) — ngunit magkakaugnay
  • Walang salungat kahit sa kabila ng lawak at tagal ng pagkakasulat

B. Natupad na Hula

  • Isaias 53 – ang “nagdurusang lingkod” – natupad kay Jesus, 700 taon matapos isulat
  • Daniel 2 & 7 – naglarawan ng apat na magkakasunod na kaharian: Babilonia, Medo-Persia, Gresya, Roma — bago pa ito mangyari

C. Katapatan ng mga Tauhan

  • Ipinakita ang pagkakamali ng mga bayani (kasalanan ni David, pagtatwa ni Pedro, pagdududa ng mga apostol)
  • Kung gawa-gawa lamang ito ng tao, tiyak na ikukubli o itatago ang mga ito

Sana ay tao ang gustong dakilain ang sarili o gawing sentro, ngunit ang Kasulatan ay nagpapakumbaba sa kanya. Samakatuwid, hindi ito ang paraan ng gawaing-pangrelihiyong na kathang-isip lamang.


VI. SINASABI NG BIBLIA NA ITO AY GALING SA DIYOS

A. “Ganito ang sabi ng Panginoon – Mahigit 2,000 beses sa Lumang Tipan

B. Mga Hebreo 1:1–2

Ang Dios, na nagsalita nang unang panahon sa ating mga magulang sa iba't ibang panahon at sa iba't ibang paraan sa pamamagitan ng mga propeta, Ay nagsalita sa atin sa mga huling araw na ito sa pamamagitan, ng kaniyang Anak,...”

  • Ang Diyos ay nagsalita sa iba't ibang paraan — sa pamamagitan ng mga propeta at ngayon sa pamamagitan ni Cristo — at ito ay naitala sa Kasulatan

C. 1 Corinto 2:13

Na ang mga bagay na ito ay atin namang sinasalita, hindi sa mga salitang itinuturo ng karunungan ng tao, kundi sa itinuturo ng Espiritu;...”

  • Inaangkin ni Pablo na ang kanilang mga salita ay kinasihan ng Espiritu

VII. ANG PATOTOONG NAKAMIT NG KASULATAN (PATUNAY NG PAGKADIYOS)

A. Mga Hebreo 4:12

Sapagka't ang salita ng Dios ay buhay, at mabisa, at matalas... at madaling kumilala ng mga pagiisip at mga haka ng puso.”

B. Awit 19:7–9

Ang kautusan ng Panginoon ay sakdal, na nagsasauli ng kaluluwa: ang patotoo ng Panginoon ay tunay, na nagpapapantas sa hangal. Ang mga tuntunin ng Panginoon ay matuwid, na nagpapagalak sa puso: ang utos ng Panginoon ay dalisay, na nagpapaliwanag ng mga mata. Ang takot sa Panginoon ay malinis, na nananatili magpakailan man: ang mga kahatulan ng Panginoon ay katotohanan, at lubos na matuwid.”

  • Tanging ang Salita ng Diyos ang tunay na nagpapabago ng ugali, nanghihikayat sa budhi, at nagbibigay ng walang hanggang pag-asa

VIII. HALIMBAWA NI JESUS AT MGA APOSTOL SA PAGGAMIT NG KASULATAN BILANG PINAKA-MAKAPANGYARIHANG AWTORIDAD

A. Si Jesus – Mateo 4:4,7,10

Nasusulat...” – tatlong beses na binanggit sa oras ng tukso

B. Si Pablo – Gawa 17:2

“...at siya'y nakipagtalo sa kanila mula sa mga kasulatan...”

  • Ang pangangaral ng mga apostol ay nakabatay sa Kasulatan, hindi sa karanasan o lohika ng tao

IX. KONKLUSYON: ANG BANAL NA KASULATAN AY ANG GANAP NA SALITA NG DIYOS

Buod:

  • Kinasihan = Hiningahan ng Diyos (2 Tim. 3:16)
  • Walang Kamalian = Walang pagkakamali (Awit 119:160)
  • Iningatan = Pinangalagaan magpakailanman (Awit 12:6–7)
  • Pinaka-Awtoridad = Huling pamantayan (Isaias 8:20; Pahayag 22:18–19)

Panawagan:

“Sa kautusan at sa patotoo! kung hindi sila magsalita ng ayon sa salitang ito, tunay na walang umaga sa kanila.” – Isaias 8:20

Ang pagtanggi sa Bibliya ay hindi lang pagtanggi sa isang aklat — kundi pagtanggi sa mismong hininga ng Diyos.
